Overall configuration steps

Depending of the working mode choosen, either in autonomous mode or within LoriotPro, the installation steps varies.

In autonomous mode

In autonomous mode, SMS Dispatch Manager will be used in conjunction with SMS editor for the creation of SMS by third-party program.

As a reminder, the objective of the solution is to send SMS messages to mobile phones created by a third party program. An example are provided for Sending an SMS upon receipt of a Windows Event.

The steps are seen in details in subsequent chapters, but we recall below their chronology.

  1. Installation of physical GSM modem, connecting to the computer or is installed LoriotPro.
  2. Establishment of the SIM card in the Modem.
  3. Install the SMS Dispatch manager program on you Windows system after downloading.
  4. Launching the LP Launcher program and its included SMS Dispatch Manager child program. Open the Setup option to start the configuration of the serial connection with the Modem.
  5. Test operation and communication with the modem, test the presence of the operator's network and GSM network access.
  6. Creation of potential recipients of SMS (number of mobile phones required at this stage).
  7. Creation of recipient lists. Recipient lists are mandatory because LoriotPro sends SMS to recipient lists only (Recipient lists may contain a single recipient). Perform the test of the recipient list before using it.
  8. Use the SMS Editor program to interface your third party application with SMS Dispatch Manager.

As a module of LoriotPro

The implementation of the SMS Dispatch Manager solution takes place in several steps where a chronological order must be respected.

As a reminder, the objective of the solution is to send SMS messages to mobile phones when receiving events (alarms) within LoriotPro. The software module SMS Dispatch Manager works in conjunction with LoriotPro and you must have a License and a LoriotPro product installed before you begin.

  3. Adding the SMS Dispatch Manager program plug-in in the LoriotPro services. Add the Sms Dispatch Manager license file.

  6. Creation of potential recipients of SMS (number of mobile phones required at this stage).
